I created the Holistic Hairstylist Course after transforming my own health and career, and realizing the opportunity that lay in doing things a little differently.

When I was almost 10 years in the hair industry (2016), I got really sick. I had reactive lymph nodes that lead to a surgery, post op complications, another surgery and finally my whole health collapsed to the point I was put on steroids.

I was working in a traditional salon at the time, and I knew that my body wouldn’t be able to handle it for long. So, I decided to start my own business - using products that supported my health rather than made me sick.

I found an incredible doctor who taught me all about my body, how toxins interacted with it, how to reduce my exposure and how to support my body with what I couldn’t avoid. My body started to heal and at the same time my business was growing rapidly.

Because I had a holistic approach to haircare, I was in high demand, not just from clients behind the chair but PR companies, photoshoots for haircare brands and content creation. It allowed me to save 30k in my first year of business, open a full salon, start selling products online and more.

It also breathed new life into my career. I was able to build sustainability into everything I did (and make more money doing it), as well as ensure that our space was safe for all of the folks in my community. My career had a depth that I hadn’t felt before, a purpose.
